Belgian salary calculator 2026 (gross to net)

For a full-time white-collar employee in the private sector, paid monthly. Pick the payment month: Belgium changed its withholding rules in November 2026 and its work bonus several times this year, so the same gross gives a different net depending on the month.

How the net is calculated

  1. Social security: 13.07% of gross (pensions 7.50%, health care 3.55%, sickness benefits 1.15%, unemployment 0.87%).
  2. Work bonus: on lower salaries, part of that contribution is given back. It has two parts (A and B) that fade out as the salary rises.
  3. Withholding tax (précompte professionnel): calculated on the yearly equivalent of your taxable pay, after flat-rate professional expenses (30%, capped), with the tax-free amount and family reductions.
  4. Fiscal work bonus: a further cut in withholding tax for people who receive the work bonus.
  5. Special social security contribution: a monthly advance, recalculated in your tax assessment.

What this calculator does not include

Blue-collar workers, part-time work, incomplete months, company cars, meal vouchers, group insurance, holiday pay, end-of-year bonus and non-resident taxation. Withholding tax is an advance: your real tax is fixed by the yearly assessment, which also applies your commune's additional tax rate (see the commune finder).
